Teaching poor children who have no proper access to education can be enriching. Rachel and Aaron seemed to be keeping their word, using their love to help others and disseminate the teachings of the religion they believed in. But after a while, it became evident that the Halberts belonged back in the U.S.
While the circumstances surrounding Rachel and Aaron’s return to the South aren’t obvious, returning home to America opened many new possibilities for the young couple. The idea of starting a family was still around, but Aaron also wanted to work on his education.
