A Couple With African-American Triplets Is Changing The Way People Think About Mixed-Race Families

With Crooked Lines

It’s said that God writes straight with crooked lines, and the Halberts were firm believers of the Gospel. They thought: if we can’t have a caucasian child naturally, then that means we shouldn’t have a caucasian child at all. Driven by their faith, the two young missionaries decided they wanted to have a mixed-race family.

The adoption agency respected their request. In no time, the Halberts’ family grew in number, with two African-American babies entering the God-loving household. The baby boy and the baby girl were baptized Ford and Catherine and welcomed with open arms by their new parents.
