A Photographer Stepped Into a Neglected Home to Show Us a Unique Piece of American History

Everything in Its Right Place

The intact antiques are one of the main reasons why Sansivero was so keen on photographing the Marion Carll Farmhouse. Most centuries-old homes in America have been completely cleaned out from the inside. Family members and even plunders rushed to get their hands on anything of value, from furniture to smaller items such as clothes and medicine.

But Marion Carll’s farmhouse remained unchanged and unlooted. The display of the objects was pretty much the same as it was in the mid-’60s, hence offering a stunning visual representation of what life was like at the time.
