Understandably, Rachel has taken some time off from her Tegucigalpa mission to focus on being a full-time mom. Considering she has five children to take care of, we can totally understand the decision. Nowadays, the couple is trying to enjoy life to the fullest in sunny Honduras, where their mixed-race family fits right in.
In a message of positivity, the Halberts have praised the changes in culture that have been taking place in the Christian and evangelical communities. They find it “especially encouraging” to see so many religious youngsters putting a “high priority on life, adoption and multi-ethnic families.”
Slow & Steady
Many people don’t hold on to their first relationships as young people. That’s probably because teenagers tend to have a passionate spirit, as well as strong convictions when it comes to love. But, among many other things, Rachel and Aaron shared a sense of responsibility and true commitment.
Determined not to take things too fast, they got to know one another over the years, cherishing a passionate but slow and steady love affair. Eventually, the seed of their love would grow into a beautiful fruit, fueled by a similar outlook on life and by a passion for helping others.
