Cheerleading was such a big part of Ciara’s life that she was actually the Riverdale High School squad’s captain. She had to give it up during her senior year because an opportunity came knocking on the music front.
It was a good thing, too, because her debut album spurned hits like Goodies, 1, 2 Step, Oh and And I, and put her on the path to stardom. She is also renowned for her high octane performances, which no doubt have roots in her cheerleading days. She took a hiatus from music to focus on her pregnancy but in 2020, returned with a song called Rooted with Esther Dean.
