Thelma Barlow (Born in 1929 – Middlesbrough)
Thelma Barlow’s first job was as a secretary. Even then, she had a flair for acting and was part of a drama group. After working for seven years, she decided to follow her passion and joined the Joan Littlewood Theatre Group. Later, she had her first television appearance in “Becky Sharp.”
In 1971, she featured in the soap opera “Coronation Street” where she appeared in 1,787 episodes for 26 years. She got nominated for Most Promising Newcomer for her performance in her first film role, “Mrs. Henderson Presents,” in 2005. Barlow was a guest in a TV documentary titled “Coronation Street Icons: Norris Cole ” in September 2021.
