The Quiet Life of Some of the Greatest NFL Players

Jim Brown, 87, Cleveland Browns

Jim Brown, a 1971 Pro Football Hall of Famer, was ranked first on the NFL Network’s list of the 100 Greatest Football Players in 2002. He was a trailblazing fullback for the Cleveland Browns for eight years before retiring to join acting and sports analysis, retaining his integral impact in the game.

Off the field, the Georgia native is a civil rights activist and philanthropist who founded the Amer-I-Can program, a non-profit organization that uses sports to promote social change. Brown also served as a consultant to the Cleveland Browns during the ’80s and ’90s, during which they won several division titles.
